DR. CHRIS SHERMAN

Chiropractor, Acupuncturist

Dr. Chris Sherman has consistently demonstrated an unwavering commitment to excellence in chiropractic care, continually expanding his knowledge and skills to better serve his patients. In 2008, he embarked on a successful private practice journey alongside his wife Nancy, and they continue to operate their practice together on a part-time basis, providing personalized care to their patients.

Since 2015, Dr. Sherman has been privileged to lend his expertise as a chiropractor at the Roudebush VA Medical Center, affiliated with the Department of Veterans Affairs. One area of Dr. Sherman's special interest lies in the effective management of chronic pain. Recognizing the urgency of addressing the opioid crisis, he was selected in 2016 to join the esteemed American Chiropractic Association (ACA) Opioid Task Force, contributing valuable insights towards mitigating the challenges associated with opioid misuse. At the Roudebush VA Medical Center, Dr. Sherman also serves as a crucial member of the Chronic Pain Team, utilizing evidence-based guidelines to provide compassionate care to veterans grappling with chronic pain conditions.

Dr. Sherman's educational journey exemplifies his continuous pursuit of excellence. In addition to earning a Bachelor's degree in Human Biology and a Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) degree from the University of Western States in Portland, Oregon, in 2005 and 2007 respectively, he has further augmented his knowledge with advanced certifications. In 2022, Dr. Sherman achieved the esteemed American Board of Chiropractic Acupuncture Diplomate (DABCA) certification, solidifying his expertise and dedication to comprehensive care.

Alongside his professional endeavors, Dr. Sherman has developed a passion for providing chiropractic care to rock bands when they visit the area. Understanding the unique physical demands placed on musicians, he ensures they receive the specialized care they need to perform at their best and stay in optimal health during their tours.

Dr. Sherman's commitment to his patients and profession is matched by his ongoing military service. As a distinguished military professional, he has served in the Air Force for over 26 years, assuming various roles that have allowed him to travel extensively and engage with diverse cultures. Throughout his military career, Dr. Sherman has been deployed multiple times in support of critical missions such as Operation Northern Watch, Southern Watch, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Niger for a state partnership program. Currently, he holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Indiana Air National Guard, specializing in Public Health.

Recognized for his expertise and contributions to the field, Dr. Sherman serves as an adjunct professor at several esteemed universities, including the University of Western States, Parker University, Northeast College of Health Sciences, and Palmer College of Chiropractic. Through his academic role, Dr. Sherman actively contributes to the education and training of future chiropractic professionals, imparting his knowledge and insights to shape the next generation of healthcare providers.

In addition to his professional achievements, Dr. Sherman finds great fulfillment and joy in his personal life. He considers his role as a father to his three daughters to be both his biggest challenge and greatest success in life.
